Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is one of the most researched therapies around. It has been found to be highly effective and is often recommended as the first line therapy within services such as the NHS. It has been proven to help people with a wide range of problems such as anxiety (including worry), depression, low self-esteem, OCD, PTSD, Childhood Trauma / Abuse and other problems stemming from traumatic experiences, Sleep Problems to name a few. CBT looks at how thinking can impact the way that we feel physically and emotionally and how how this influences our behaviour.  The aim is to identify patterns which keep the problem going or make us feel stuck. This can help you to find different ways of coping or managing your problems which help you to move forward in the direction you want. This often leads to a major improvement in symptoms, relationships and quality of life.

Low intensity CBT

Low intensity CBT is a less intensive version of CBT for people who may not need a lot of support but may be looking for some direction from someone who is a skilled therapist. Low intensity interventions tend to be brief (typically between 6-8 sessions) are widely used to address milder symptoms or to help people who need less intensive support.

CBT and Low Intensity CBT can be used with both Children and Adults. They can also be accessed online, if preferable. To find out more you can contact us for a Free Initial Telephone Consultation.
